Summary of the Seminar
Minhye Zoh, Ph.D.(University of London) gave a presentation titled "The Institutionalisation of Disclosure and Scandals in the Corporate Governance System of South Korea"
The lecturer provided some background to corporate governance and its importance to the "wellbeing" of the economy.
The lecturer gave a lecture with the aim to 1)compare the U.S. and South Korea's corporative governance system with a focus on the effect of corporate disclosure regulations on scandals, 2)shed light on the institutionalisation of South Korea's current corporate governance system since the 1960s, 1997 and beyond.

Professor Yunji Kim(Seoul National University) gave a presentation titled "Academic Writing"
The professor lectured a gentle introduction to writing a master's thesis, from the structure of the thesis in theory to the writing of the thesis in practice.
The professor also taught us how to utilize various resources when writing a thesis and had a Q&A session with us.

Professor Kilkon Ko(Director of Asia Regional Information Center at Seoul National University) gave presentations titled "Preparation for Thesis Qualifying Examination" in part 1 of the Seminar and "Understanding the Process of Thesis Examination" in part 2 of the Seminar.
The seminar was designed at the strong request of students and they were able to learn how to prepare for the thesis examination.

Professor Kilkon Ko(Director of Asia Regional Information Center at Seoul National University) gave a presentation titled "How to Find Research Question and Design the Research"
Ran Kim, Ph.D.(Seoul National University) gave a presentation titled "How to Report Descriptive Statistics", "How to Perform Regression Analysis" and "How to Report Regression Analysis" for 3 days.
We discussed how to create research interests and research questions by using practical tools such as statistical programs.

Asaph Young Chun, Ph.D.(Director-General, Statistics Research Institute | Statistics Korea ) gave a presentation titled "Pandemic Nearcasting to Nudge Science-Based Policymaking: Genesis and Evolution of Prediction Science". The purpose of the talk was to unravel the coevolution of prediction science and evidence-based policymaking throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in the case of Korea.
We discussed conditions for further innovation in prediction science and issues for human-centered pragmatic policymaking.

Summary of the Seminar
Professor Kilkon Ko (Director of Asia Regional Information Center at Seoul National University) gave a presentation titled "From Impossible to Possible: How Can South Korea Track COVID-19?". We looked at the privacy policies related to past epidemics, from the past SARS and MERS experiences to the recent COVID-19 experiences.
Dr. Bernhard Seliger(CEO of the HSF Korean office) said in the debate that Korea's successful response could be based on its geographical location, public-friendly attitude to technology, and less resistance to wearing masks due to air pollution in recent years.
Marti Mätas, acting Estonian ambassador to Korea, followed with a presentation titled "Digitalization, e-government and the Fight Against Corona – Lessons from Estonia." It introduced Estonia as a digital powerhouse and described confidentiality, availability, and integrity as the three pillars of security as the safest combination.
